ABOUT US
Hudson Valley Honor Flight:
Our mission is to create a chapter of the National Honor Flight program right here in the Hudson Valley. We would reach out to Veterans
from Orange, Ulster, Westchester, Rockland, Putnum, Dutchess and Columbia Counties. First priority would be given to World War II
Veterans but will also be open for terminally ill Veterans from other wars. Our goal is to have two flights a year depart from Stewart
Airport and take Hudson Valley Veterans to the Memorial. It is a one-day trip involving a unique itinerary designed to give the Veterans
the complete Honor Flight experience that they so rightly deserve - to show how grateful we are for their sacrifices and what their
service meant to this country.

About our Board:
We have five official board members and many other committee volunteers who attend our meetings.

Steven Nicoli – President
US Army Veteran
BS in Computer Technology
Responsible for planning, presiding over, and taking part in board and committee meetings; partnering with the Vice Chair to ensure that
board resolutions are carried out efficiently; ensuring that National Honor Flight policies and procedures are adhered to.   

Patricia Maher – Vice President
BA in Business Management & Administration
Responsible for contacting the Veteran’s outreach coordinator for each county to collect Veteran’s & Guardian’s applications; facilitating
fundraising and overseeing the fundraising efforts of volunteers; manages all deadlines.

Ian Miller – Treasurer
Financial Advisor
Responsible for monitoring, collecting and dispersing funds per the needs of the organization; acting in compliance with the National
Honor Flight Network financial regulations; maintaining relationships with sponsors as well as soliciting new relationships from potential
sponsors.

Helen Schoonmaker – Secretary
Community Advocate
Responsible for assisting Vice President with assigned follow-up duties; attending all meetings and recording meeting minutes; soliciting
fundraising from multiple organizational chains throughout the Hudson Valley region.

Erin McKane – Event Coordinator
Office Manager
MA in Community Psychology
BA in Business Management
Responsible for confirming fundraising events with local organizations; responsible for setting up and confirming reservations for flight
day with air, bus, restaurants and other vendors who donate goods or services for the trip; contacts local media to discuss all upcoming
events for Honor Flight.
